Autobiography

Therapy is a process of self-discovery and learning to create positive life changes.

My name is Melissa Petrosian and I am a licensed marriage and family therapist. As an interactive and solution-focused therapist, my therapeutic approach is to provide support and practical feedback to help clients address personal life challenges.  I have worked effectively with children, families, individual adults and older adults to help them resolve behavioral, emotional or relational issues and achieve their desired goals. My areas of specialty include trauma, grief and loss, depression, anxiety, and adjustment disorders. I am certified to provide Interpersonal Therapy, a highly effective evidence based practice for treatment of depression. I also have extensive training in treatment of trauma and effectively utilize approaches such as Trauma-Focused Cognitive Behavioral Therapy and Interpersonal Therapy.  As a trained therapist, and also as importantly, through understanding and compassion, I will provide you with necessary support and help you move beyond difficult and challenging situations to uncover your true potential and have a more fulfilling life you deserve.
