I became a therapist because I believe that everyone has the capacity to live the life they have envisioned for themselves. At times we become stuck, forget our passions, and become overwhelmed in an effort to please others or get lost in the daily schedule of tasks and appointments. This causes us to lose the energy and excitement to live life. I look to help clients get back in touch with themselves, break emotional patterns that lead to anxiety, depression and confusion.
I take an integrated approach, drawing from both traditional and contemporary approaches to psychotherapy, underscored by a primarily strength based approach to help empower clients resolve challenges and develop new skills that lead to long term health and happiness. I focus and have a passion for treating addiction and co-dependence, identifying the underlying reasons for reliance on the external, learning to stop sacrificing one’s needs for others, decrease sense of shame and focus on developing a sense of authenticity, autonomy and capacity for intimacy. My work with you in therapy is to change your relationship to yourself and others to create a more fulfilling life.
